Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Gateway Adventure Treks and Expedition will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest from your international journey or take a gentle walk around Thamel, one of Kathmandu’s most lively tourist areas.

In the evening, our guide will meet you for a short briefing about the Nepal Temple Tour. You will receive information about the daily schedule, temple customs, cultural etiquette, dress code, transportation arrangements, and important travel tips. This first day gives you time to settle into Nepal’s spiritual and cultural atmosphere before beginning the pilgrimage journey.

After breakfast, the spiritual journey begins with a guided visit to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located beside the sacred Bagmati River, Pashupatinath is a major Hindu pilgrimage site where devotees come for worship, rituals, and blessings. The temple complex reflects Nepal’s deep religious culture, with shrines, sadhus, prayer rituals, and traditional architecture.

Non-Hindu visitors may not enter the inner sanctum of the main temple, but they can observe the temple surroundings, riverbank rituals, and spiritual activities from permitted areas. Your guide will explain the religious meaning of the temple, the role of Lord Shiva, and the importance of Pashupatinath in Hindu life.

After Pashupatinath, you will drive to Budhanilkantha Temple, located north of Kathmandu. This peaceful temple is famous for the large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu resting on the cosmic serpent in a sacred pond. The stone image is one of the most impressive Vishnu sculptures in Nepal and attracts many devotees throughout the year.

If time allows, you may also visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historic palace and temple area known for Newar architecture, courtyards, wooden carvings, and traditional culture.

After breakfast, you will leave Kathmandu and begin a scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway toward Kurintar. The road follows river valleys, terraced hillsides, small roadside towns, and countryside landscapes. This is a beautiful transition from the capital city to Nepal’s middle hill region.

Upon reaching Kurintar, you will take the cable car to Manakamana Temple, one of Nepal’s most famous goddess temples. The cable car ride itself is a memorable experience, offering views of green hills, rivers, forests, and distant mountain landscapes. Manakamana Temple is dedicated to the wish-fulfilling goddess, and many pilgrims visit the temple to pray for blessings, protection, prosperity, and success.

After spending time at the temple, you will return to Kurintar by cable car. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the peaceful hill environment.

Today, after breakfast, you will continue the journey toward Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most beautiful lake cities. The drive passes through hills, rivers, bridges, local settlements, and scenic countryside. As you approach Pokhara, the view becomes more dramatic, especially when the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre ranges are visible.

After arriving in Pokhara, you will check in at your hotel near Lakeside. Later, you will visit Tal Barahi Temple, located on a small island in the middle of Phewa Lake. A short boat ride takes you across the lake to this peaceful temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. The reflection of the hills and mountains on the lake makes this visit both spiritual and scenic.

You will also visit Bindabasini Temple, one of the oldest and most respected Hindu temples in Pokhara. Located on a small hill, the temple offers a peaceful worship environment and beautiful views of the city and surrounding mountains. If time permits, you may also visit nearby attractions such as Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, or the International Mountain Museum.

Early in the morning, you will begin the journey toward the sacred Muktinath Temple in Mustang. This is the most spiritually significant and geographically dramatic part of the Nepal Temple Tour. The road passes through changing landscapes, from green hills and river valleys to the dry, wind-shaped terrain of the Mustang region.

Muktinath Temple is located at around 3,800 meters / 12,467 feet and is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. For Hindu pilgrims, Muktinath is associated with Lord Vishnu and is believed to be a place of liberation, or moksha. Devotees visit the temple to worship, receive blessings, and take ritual baths under the 108 sacred water spouts inside the temple area.

The mountain setting of Muktinath is very powerful. The temple stands in a high Himalayan landscape surrounded by rugged hills, dry valleys, and distant snow-capped peaks. After completing prayers and sightseeing at the temple, you will drive back to Jomsom for overnight stay.

After breakfast in Jomsom, you will drive back toward Pokhara through the Kali Gandaki Valley. The route offers impressive views of barren Mustang landscapes, deep river valleys, traditional settlements, and Himalayan scenery. Depending on road and weather conditions, the journey may take several hours.

Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You may relax by Phewa Lake, take a short walk along Lakeside, enjoy boating, or simply rest after the long mountain journey. This day is designed to help travelers recover comfortably after visiting the high-altitude pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Activity: Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara, rest and relaxation

After breakfast, you will take a short domestic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you will continue the spiritual sightseeing journey toward the southern side of the valley.

First, you will drive to Pharping, an ancient town known for its peaceful atmosphere, monasteries, caves, and traditional Newar settlements. Pharping is spiritually important for both Hindu and Buddhist visitors and offers a calm countryside experience close to Kathmandu.

You will then visit Dakshinkali Temple, a famous shrine dedicated to Goddess Kali. The temple is especially active on certain worship days, when devotees gather to offer prayers and rituals. Your guide will explain the religious importance of Goddess Kali, temple customs, and the cultural practices connected with the site.

If time allows, you may also visit Patan Durbar Square on the way back. Patan is known for beautiful temples, palace courtyards, stone carvings, metal art, and traditional Newar culture. In the evening, return to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Today marks the end of your Nepal Temple Tour with Gateway Adventure Treks and Expedition. After breakfast, you may have free time depending on your international flight schedule. You can take a final walk around Thamel, buy souvenirs, or collect religious items such as rudraksha beads, prayer flags, singing bowls, handicrafts, or traditional Nepali gifts.

At the scheduled time, our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure. You leave Nepal with meaningful memories of sacred temples, peaceful prayers, Himalayan landscapes, cultural traditions, and the powerful spiritual journey to Muktinath.
